On July 5, 2000, Allergy and Asthma Specialists began with the intention of creating a medical practice that would be inviting and deliver expert, effective, and affordable healthcare to patients of all ages with allergic an immunologic disorders.
For over 20 years now, we have been treating the residents of Owensboro and the surrounding regions for all manner of allergic diseases, asthma, and immunologic disorders.
In July of 2010, we opened our new office location at Wathens Crossing and Carter Road, just one quarter mile from the Owensboro 60 bypass. Here we have continued our mission to provide state-of-the-art allergy immunology care to families in Daviess County and throughout western Kentucky.
Our friendly knowledgeable staff is available to help you with all your allergy immunology medical issues. Our staff includes a certified asthma educator who has specialized training, which allows our team to care for asthma patients in a more effective manner. All of our nursing staff is BLS, PALS, and ACLS certified, which means they have special training that better prepares them to treat medical emergencies that may occur in the office.
With respect to the treatment of allergic patients, Allergy and Asthma Specialists performs all allergy procedures in house. If a patient requires treatment with allergy immunotherapy or “allergy shots”, that prescription will be written in house, and the allergy serum will be mixed and created at our allergy mixing lab. Our allergy serum staff has over 20 years of combined experience in mixing allergy serum.
Allergy and Asthma Specialists also offers patients the opportunity to participate in clinical research studies in the field of allergy and immunology. At Allergy and Asthma Specialists, we have been conducting clinical trials for greater than 15 years and have been involved in over 35 such protocols.
Our support staff and our billing, business, and research departments are very experienced and capable. Many have been working here, at Allergy and Asthma Specialists, for greater than 10 years. We take care of all billing, registration, and insurance issues here on site. These members of our team are willing and able to handle all of your questions here in the office.
At Allergy and Asthma Specialists, we believe in a personalized approach to patient care and we tailor treatment plans to meet the individual patient’s needs. We will strive to treat all of our patients as we would treat our own family. This family approach is really the centerpiece of our approach to the care of allergy immunology patients.
